Project Campbell Lane: Demo Day!

Wow, what a difference! Shown here is arguably the most impactful part of this entire renovation, and definitely the most challenging. Knocking down the walls that separated the kitchen, dining room, and living room took a lot of top-notch engineering to plan just how to raise this roof without completely rebuilding it. The three massive beams you see in the last photo not only allowed us to create a wonderfully open space/great room, but it allowed the interior ceiling to be raised about two feet as well. The feeling you got upon entering the house in its original state (photo #1) was very claustrophobic and uninviting. When you compare photos #2 and #5 you can easily see across the entire main floor, which not only provides significantly more natural light throughout, but a much greater sense of togetherness.
