What makes our team different?

We did not begin our professional careers with Real Estate.

We gravitated towards this industry and each other because we wanted to change how a typical Real Estate Team operated.  We saw an opportunity to change the mentality towards Real Estate Agents. Our Motto is “A Blue Collar Work-Ethic with a White-Collar Mindset” and we embody that every day.  

What we bring to the industry is our own set of unique & complementary skills that sets our team apart.  

We have a background in the Entertainment Industry which gives us a major marketing advantage over our competitors.  We treat each home like a film, providing expert pre-marketing techniques similar to the idea of a movie trailer.  

We have a background in Design and a knowledge of Design Trends which allows us to provide you with the best advice and ideas if you want to remodel or make any cosmetic changes to your home.  

We have a background in Lending which provides us with knowledge and the ability to help you step-by-step throughout the loan process.  

We also have a background in Real Estate Appraising and Wealth Management that contributes the analytical skill-set that allows us to be a top notch negotiator for our clients.  We provide the best data to make educated and thoughtful decisions.

Matt McCormick, a native of California and long-term resident of Northern & Southern California is an experienced executive who brings a wealth of marketing and sales knowledge and applying practical application to his clients. Matt offers a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and personal attention. His global marketing experience allows him to team up with local top agents in order to maximize the return for his clients. Living in Mountain View (where he grew up) and Conejo Valley, Matt understands the California lifestyle and is an active participant in many of the numerous activities that occur around the Santa Clara and Conejo valleys. He has built a stellar reputation globally and throughout the area and holds a BS from Santa Clara University and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Matt is the founder of The C Global network of high-credentialed real estate agents who have a blue collar work ethic, yet a white collar mind set to serve clients at unexpected levels.

Matt has been married for 30 years and has two daughters. He is an avid cyclist and triathlete and has a passion for the game of baseball — (son of former San Francisco Giants Cy Young Award winner Mike McCormick.)

In addition to his work in Real Estate, Matt strongly believes in giving back to the community. He is heavily involved in St. Francis High School and sits on the alumni board at Santa Clara University. He also serves the needy on a quarterly basis through his church and sits on the Board of Directors for the Conejo Valley Boys & Girls Club. He also coached 14 years of youth soccer and finished his final year with the U12 AYSO.

Matt brings to his real estate practice a previous background in executive corporate management at Warner Brothers Entertainment, which benefits his clients with world-class global marketing, exceptional negotiation skills, effective problem solving and communication skills.

Melissa was born in South San Francisco and grew up in the Peninsula of the San Francisco Bay Area. She grew up with two hard-working, small business owning parents and a younger brother who is currently in Chicago practicing Physical Therapy.

Design & marketing has always been in her blood, so she first received her Associates Degree in Visual Merchandising at FIDM in San Francisco. Soon thereafter she moved to Los Angeles to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

Melissa’s career path has taken her to many roles, including a non-profit auction event coordinator, a telecom project manager, and a wedding planner, but it was her role as the Office & Marketing Assistant Coordinator for Coldwell Banker in Westlake Village that solidified her passion for the real estate world.

With experience as an events coordinator, telecom project manager, and marketing coordinator,  it has become evident that Melissa has a distinct gift in making sense of transactions where there are many moving parts that need to be laid out, prepared and planned for, and expertly executed. She believes that it is not enough that the end goal is successfully achieve; your goal should be achieved while you receive top notch service in a smooth and (relatively) stress-free processes.

Melissa moved to the Conejo Valley and has made it “home” since 2010. She lives with her husband, Robert, and is raising two beautiful daughters, Devyn & Brea, in Newbury Park.

Brooks Nicholson

Brooks was born and raised in Aptos, California.  As the youngest child in a large family, he grew up with the support of three older sisters and two hard working and dedicated parents.  He learned from an early age the value of a strong work ethic, professionalism, and respect in business, as his parents own and operate two multigenerational family businesses, Nicholson & Company Real Estate Appraisers as well as Nicholson Vineyards Winery.  Two of his three sisters work for Facebook and the oldest sister, a teacher turned mother of three, is currently the Brand & Events Manager for Nicholson Vineyards.

After four busy and successful years at Aptos High School, Brooks attended Santa Clara University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance with an emphasis in Real Estate.  Throughout college he worked at the Union Bank of Switzerland in San Jose, on a corporate wealth management team and as an Appraisal Assistant at Nicholson & Company Real Estate Appraisers.  Having always been around the Real Estate Industry, Brooks has learned how to properly and accurately provide valuations for different types of properties. During his time at Santa Clara University, Brooks also met Matt McCormick, a fellow bronco and wonderful boss and mentor, and has been learning from him and working with him ever since.

Brooks grew up on a working vineyard and winery.  He has helped in the vines and with the winemaking process, from harvest to sale.  Taking small grapes, straight from the vine, and turning them into wine sparked an interest in seeing things through from start to finish.  This has been prevalent in how Brooks sees Real Estate. He senses potential constantly and loves the challenge of seeing projects through from a raw or untouched form to a completed product.

Having played sports all his life, Brooks is an avid fan.  He loves the San Diego Chargers, Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s and the San Jose Earthquakes.  Other interests include travel, golf, the beach, and spending time with his family and friends.
